Bail Bonds

Collection of bail bond debt requires a special knowledge of the industry and a basic understanding of the criminal justice system. We understand it’s not just one debtor/defendant and that there’s usually several indemnitors contractually obligated to protect the bond agency against any losses and unpaid premium. We’ve come to perfect the bail bond debt collection process over the years in working with many agencies and sureties by providing customized, comprehensive, and effective solutions.

Types of Bail Bond Debt Handled

  • Unpaid bail bond premium & installment agreements
  • Bail bond forfeitures (Municipal & Superior Courts)
  • Recovering investigative and apprehension costs
  • Incurred attorney costs when negotiating forfeited recognizance
  • Existing civil judgments

What are the costs?

If the indemnity agreement and/or promissory note are worded properly, and the parties are contractually liable for collection costs, our fees will be in addition to what is owed to your agency. Most agreements we’ve seen allow for collection costs, attorney fees, and a myriad of other costs to be recoverable upon breach of the agreements. That being said, the cost of collection, suit, and attorney fees will be the responsibility of the breaching parties.

How does it work?

With bail bond debt collection, there are two stages. We first try to make contact with all parties via US Mail, telephone, and email to come to a mutual agreement. We want to get the account back on track. If that fails, the next step would be civil action. This involves serving the debtors with a Complaint (lawsuit), obtaining a judgment, and pursuing collection through the courts.

How do I get started?
